These are so good and taste like fall. The sugar seemed to caramelize at the edges which gave a wonderful crunch and flavor.

Could I use an alternative to brown sugar? Maybe maple sugar? Or brown coconut sugar?

I don’t see why not! I often swap those for brown sugar. Though I’ve never tried it in this recipe
