One cup of butter is 227g - may want to double check the metric ingredients list!

Quite literally the best chocolate chip cookies ever!! I was able to make 36 and freeze 2 dozen for later. Also, these make delicious ice cream sandwiches!!

I think the measurements are off on the metric side of the ingredients. When I weighed the butter to 160g it only gave me 1 1/2 stick of butter (which is only 3/4 cup). I also weighed my cane sugar and 1/2 cup is weighed at 125g and not 100g. My cookies came out a little dry and not very sweet but next time I’ll use my measuring cups lol

These are honestly the worst cookies I've ever made and I don't know what I did wrong! I've baked them at 10 minutes and 14 minutes. They completely fall apart. I have tried letting them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet or completely cool on the baking sheet and they still are not holding their shape. They spread out, they crumble, they're a weird mix of under and over done. Is it because these are fresh milled that they're doing this? I doubled the recipe and I wish I hadn't. Maybe you can help troubleshoot?

Hi Katy - your flour looks quite coarse. Which mill do you have? Did you mill the flour super fine? This looks like a flour issue to me.

I have the mockmill 200 and it's set to the finest setting and I milled it twice.

Can you send me a photo of your flour? Do you make breads? How do they turn out with the flour?

Wow, that’s super coarse. I’m surprised your bread turns out. I would say that is definitely the issue in this case. I wonder why that mill won’t grind more finely? It’s a pretty expensive mill too, right?

A great recipe! My fave FMF chocolate chip cookie that I’ve tried! (And I love a CCC, so I’ve tried a bunch!). Glad to have this easy recipe in my back pocket. And in case anyone is wondering- I mixed these up by hand (my kitchen aid is on the verge of overheating) with really soft butter and they came out just fine!
