Mine turned out flat, had to cook an extra 5 min. Taste is good just wondering why they are flat

What type of flour did you use? And is your baking powder expired?

I realized I used hard white wheat berries and milled them. Could that be the reason because they are not soft white? Baking powder is not expired

Yes that is likely why, try again with soft wheat, einkorn or kamut.

Did not use milled flour- only had store-bought-delicious but not quite the right texture in middle -was still a little mushy, but it tastes great! & outside perfect. Going to try again

Can I use normal flour instead? I don’t have the miller 😭 or maybe almond or oats flour?

Yes you can use store bought flour. Just use a little more flour than the recipe calls for.
