Notes

I have the SAKI bread machine and I chose it because of its ceramic coating vs. teflon. I have also used and really enjoyed the Neretva bread machine, which also has the ceramic coating instead of the teflon. https://amzn.to/49DeqQZ

Hey! Thank you for this! Wondering why is the bread machine recipe different than your basic bread recipe?

Hi! Is the recipe above (amount = 10) for the 1000g setting on the bread machine? Mine rose too high and burned on the top, but was delicious! So I wanted to figure out what I did wrong and try again. Thanks!

Hi! Yes this is a 2lb bread machine loaf. Should work on 1000g setting. I've never had mine rise too high and burn. What bread machine do you have?

You will need to activate your yeast prior to adding it. You can add it to the liquid

Do you sift the bran out for your freshly milled bread recipes or do you leave it?

No, I always leave it. That's where a lot of nutrition is.

With the Nereteva, how “much” would you bake for? Would it be the typical recipe for 10 as it appears when you first pull up the recipe or should I lower the amount to fit? My bread maker has a setting or 750g or 1000g and I’m worried this may be too much for the 1000g. Thanks!!

Sorry I didn’t really know how to type it out. Essentially I was worried your recipe was too much for my bread maker (comparing ingredient amounts from your recipe to the one they gave me in the bread maker guide) and would overflow or something, but after doing it I realized there is plenty of space and it should work out fine. Sorry that was confusing!

Which setting do you use on the Neretva? I tried whole wheat and it keeps over rising (caves in in the middle of the loaf)??

Stephanie, mine did the same thing in my Neretva! I noticed that I accidentally used active yeast instead of instant so I was wondering if that caused it. Any thoughts, Kristin?

Definitely need the instant yeast for this recipe. As far as it falling in the middle, that is an indication that it rose to high during the final rise. You could play around with different settings and see if another one is better. But whole wheat works great for mine everytime.
