If you want to make them chocolate protein, waffles, I just bought some cacao powder. How would I incorporate that and what would I have to do different on the wet portion?

I would just add a little extra liquid to compensate for the added dry ingredient

I used apple protein powder and my house now smells amazing after cooking these! And they were delicious, too. Freezing the leftovers for future breakfasts!

What protein powder do you use? I see the recipe says 1 cup of protein powder, but could this recipe work without it?

I'm inquiring similarily, if this delicious recipe works without the add of protein powder. I I do have ground flax seed- as a possible pantry add in.
